Mario Spoke About Blazor at the DUMP Days 2024 Conference
I spoke at the DUMP Days 2024 conference. The talk was about Blazor and whether it was "the one ring to rule them all"... Well it's not. Not yet, at least.
DUMP Days is a conference that was held end of May in Split, Croatia. The conference is targeted at a student audience, to give them one of their first insights into the actual world of digital technologies and software development. DUMP days is organized by the DUMP community which has been present in the city of Split for over 14 years and has helped form the local IT scene through differnet workshops, lectures and conferences.
I love the fact that the whole conference is organized at the grounds of the Faculty od Electrotechnics and Mechanic Engineering and that the whole organizing comittee are students! This creates such a positive vibe as it is absolutely clear that everyone at the conference has a mentality of giving back.
My talk was on Blazor. However, as it was a student conference, it was a fairly low level talk just getting into what Blazor is and some basic concepts, as well as why I like it and choose to use it in some of my projects. I discussed the difference between Blazor Server and Blazor WASM, some of the basic concepts like two way binding, model sharing, component sharing, dynamic components etc.
I cannot say that there were too many people in the audience, but I must say I loved the QA section in the end. The people who were in there actually paid attention and were very talkative during the QA part as well as after the talk. And for me as a speaker this is the best reward.
I am always happy to see when a lot of knowledge is shared during a conference and when people recognize a project as great as this one and come to network. One always ends up meeting new people and doing some amazing networking. I know I did.
So, to the whole DUMP days team, thank you for having me, I hope I did an OK job :)
